- READ EVERYTHING
BEFORE DOING ANYTHING !!!
- Your vinyl siding needs room to expand
and contract. So don't nail too tightly. Always allow a minimum of 1/16"
space between the back of the nail head and the nailing strip. Nails
should be placed approximately 12" to 16" apart. After nailing,
siding panels should slide freely from side to side.
- Leave at least 1/4" clearance
at all openings and accessory channel stops. This also allows for normal
expansion and contraction. If the temperature in your area goes below 32º
F, leave 3/8".
- When installing accessories—shutters,
cable mounts, etc.—always be sure to make the screw hole in the siding
1/4" larger than the diameter of the attachment screw to allow for
normal expansion and contraction. For example, a 1/8" screw will require
a 3/8" screw hole.
- Never face nail !
- Nails should always be centered in
nail slots. Nailing at the end of the slot will cause permanent damage
to the siding panel. If you need to lengthen the nail slot, you can do
so with a nail slot punch.
- Be careful not to stretch panels.
Just push upward on the bottom of each panel until the locks fully engage,
then nail the panel in place. Panels should hang freely, without strain.
- Note: Neither Triangle nor
vinyl siding manufacturers shall be reponsible if any failure to comply
with these instructions should result in failure of the siding to perform
with the intended purpose. See
disclaimer.
