Installing
Octagon Gable Vents
Using a level, mark the wall with a horizontal
line and a vertical line to make sure the vent is perfectly aligned with
the siding. Determine the location of the vent and use the template on
the back of the carton to cut a 17" diameter hole in the gable. Attach
backplate to the wall with nails or screws using mounting slots. Be sure
to note top location. Cut siding to allow a 21" octagon opening for
backplate. Install the siding over the outside of the backplate. Leave
adequate room for normal siding expansion and contraction. Install cover
plate by inserting attachment studs into attachment holes on backplate.
Push cover plate inward to adjust and straighten.
